Friends til the end!

Friends Pete, Brandi and their daughter Maci came for a visit to Panama and we have had a blast with them!

Hilt and Sarah's baby girl Sophia turned one on Thursday, and her first birthday party was a big success! We had a lot of fun, and Savannah got to enjoy her first birthday party (although she slept through most of it!)

We've enjoyed wonderful company and even got to venture out to dinner one night (and Savannah did not sleep one bit during that!)
Yesterday we all got together for a BBQ at the Tatum house and ate great food, shared wonderful stories and looked forward to all the fun times ahead. It's amazing what having little girls can do to you! We are so blessed for wonderful friends and amazing family!

"Great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget."

Savannah liked it too!

my little love bug

Whoever thought a tint little thing could give you such happiness?
Savannah is such a sweet, beautiful girl who surprises me more and more every day.
Now over a month, she is changing every single day.
She now follows voices and faces with her eyes and will turn her head to watch you.
Her face will brighten up when she is happy and giggly.
Although her sleep schedule is still totally crazy, she loves the nighttime and likes to keep us awake so she doesn't miss anything.
This too is just a phase. that won't last long. let's hope.
Lots of deep breaths (and glasses of wine!)

She is a wonderful baby, and I couldn't be more in love!

"Getting a burp out of your little thing is probably the greatest satisfaction I've come across. It's truly one of life's most satisfying moments."

ONE MONTH!

Yesterday Savannah celebrated her one month birthday!
It is hard to think she has already been with us for one month.
It has been so sweet, so rewarding, so hard and so worth it.
Every minute of it.

Being parents has been so exciting and exhausting and we have truly enjoyed it.
Watching her grow and change in such a short amount of time has been amazing.
Savannah has been a bundle of energy.
She doesn't like to sleep as much as most newborns, and enjoys being awake as a 'spider monkey' and usually being held in someones arms.
She loves bath time.
She likes music.
She sounds like a motorcycle mixed with a cat.

We love her so much.
Happy one month little princess!!

goodbyes are never easy

We had an amazing time with Jim & Becky (Grammy and Papa) on their visit to meet baby Savannah. They were great help, rocking her to sleep and keeping her so soft and cozy in their arms, and we are going to miss them so much. They were here for a week, but it felt like only a day! We were able to get out of the house a little bit, they got to visit the Panama Canal, do some shopping and see the city! We even made it out to Scott's favorite restaurant, Sake, for dinner!

Of course, I must say, I dominated Wii Bowling and am still the Wii Bowling Championship! (I even could bowl a strike while nursing!)
Baby & Boob & Bowling= not too shabby!

Today we went to the doctors for Savannah's one month checkup- although she isn't officially "one month" until the 17th, we had her appointment today and she weighs 8.7 ounces. The little porker has packed on some weight in such a short amount of time. She definitely likes to eat!

She is still fussy in the evening and sleeping her short blips of 3 hours, but we were told that this phase soon goes away... (and then something else will come along!)

We had such a wonderful visit and are sad to see them leave today. We can't wait for the next time we get to see them and they get to see Savannah! We think they should come back next week...

First Dinner Out!

Last night we had our first dinner out without Savannah.
We went to Jimmy's, a great restaurant close to the house and had some good grilled Corvina (Jim had spaghetti and pizza!) Then we went to the casino for a bit to play blackjack and enjoy some cocktails and good laughs with Jim and Becky. Savannah was happy at home (of course when we were gone, not fussy at all!) We then played some Wii bowling when we got home, and I kept my championship alive!!
We had a blast getting out for a night of fun, but of course missed our little angel!

i love you dad!
leroy fun!

Grammy and Papa

Scott's parents, Jim and Becky, who are Grammy and Papa are here visiting their baby granddaughter for week. We have had a great time and are enjoying every minute together.
They are getting in lots of hugs and kisses with Savannah!

Hi Grammy, I love you!

happy 4th of july!

Happy Independence Day!

We remembered this day by wearing our red, white and blue.
We went with friends Hilt, Sarah and baby Sophia to the park down the road for some afternoon fun, playing baseball and walking to the playground where Sohpia could swing.
It was a beautiful day here in Panama, and Savannah went out for the first time in her stroller, and slept the entire time!
We'll definitely be going back to the park more often!

Happy 4th of July from Panama!

soaking it all in

It has been one week since Mimi and Poppy left, we've been 'on our own' as new parents and it has been quite an experience! Lots of sleepless nights, dirty diapers and non-stop burping has taken up most of our time. But it couldn't be more rewarding, seeing our sweet baby girls face, watching her expressions and the incredible moments we're all smiling.

Mini me, i love you!

Savannah is two weeks old today- time has flown by so fast and we can't believe she has been here for two weeks already!

Every day, every minute, every second, we watch her grow before our eyes and amaze us so much.

it makes all the sleepless nights worthwhile.
