Missing you!

Mimi and Poppy left Panama yesterday to head back home to Florida- we already miss them so much! They were a HUGE help to us, and were here when we came home from the hospital, assisting with nighttime fussiness and being great grandparents to Savannah!

We had a good time together- even though most of it consisted of indoor fun! We were able to go to Sarah and Hilt's for a BBQ on Saturday night and take a couple of drives with Savannah in the car. Having my mom here meant the world to me, gave me the extra boost of confidence that I needed, and reassured me that I am going to be a great mom. She gave me great advice and wonderful companionship, and I am so thankful for her continued love and support.

We had our first night, just the 3 of us, and Savannah was full of energy. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep! But we enjoyed our cuddle time with our new family- even if it was followed by some projectile vomiting. Everyday we get to see all of the changes that are happening with our baby girl as she is growing right before our eyes!

"Babies are such sweet beginnings!"

Our family of 3 is just so sweet!
Good morning sunshine!
Miss your kisses Mimi!

Family time!

It's been a week of lots of learning- lots of dirty diapers- and lots of burping! Luckily we've had great help and wonderful company!

My parents Michele and Bob (Mimi and Poppy) have been here with us enjoying their new granddaughter. They have been tremendous help and it's been so much fun having them here. Savannah has enjoyed spending time with Mimi and Poppy and loves cuddling with Mimi in her arms.

We've had a great week with them, enjoyed good meals, played games and Wii bowling and been able to catch up (and also gush about how cute and adorable little Savannah is!)

Savannah is so lucky to have such a loving family!

i love my daddy!

As Savannah explores the world around her, she making faces and funny noises with Scott.
She is such a little bundle of joy, and Scott has enjoyed every second with her- even if it's playing loud music and getting her to dance or just cuddling with her on the bed.
Every day our hearts grow bigger for this beautiful baby girl.

Wonderful help!

My mom Michele, who is now Mimi, and my dad Bob, who is now Poppy, are here helping us out with Baby Savannah.

They have been fantastic, from cooking and fixing things around the house to helping burp and change diapers. It is so wonderful having my parents, the extra set of hands, and awesome words of encouragement and advice.
Savannah has been very loved and spoiled the past week she has been in the world, and has been adored by everyone who has met her.
It's been a wonderful time with my mom and dad, and we are lucky we still get to have their company until Sunday!
I wish my mom was closer for times like this, and to be able to watch her grow, but I am so grateful she is here now and able to spend the time with me, Scott and Savannah.

It was incredible having my dad here for Fathers Day, and Scott being able to spend it with his new daughter. Of course, who could forget to include that the US Open was on as well. What more could a dad ask for?!

She's just perfect!

Savannah was born in Punta Pacifica Hospital, in Panama City, Panama.
She is a perfect little angel and Scott and I are so in love.
We had a good hospital stay, the nurses and doctors were all wonderful.
(even if it was all in spanish!)
We got to spend lots of time with Savannah in our room, and we quickly learned the bundle of joy has quite the bundle of energy!

"She is going to fill a huge place in our hearts that we never knew was empty."

She's here!

Savannah Reese LeRoy

is finally here!

The beautiful princess arrived at 1:29 am Thursday, June 17.
She weighed 6.2 pounds and was 20 inches long.
I was in 12 long hours of labor, and after the doctors thinking she would arrive on the 16th, she decided to hold out until the 17th.

What an amazing day!

The most painful and rewarding experience at the same time!

weekend fun... still no baby!

Date nights are always fun!
Saturday we went to the movies to see 'Green Zone' with Matt Damon, followed by some sushi.
I am looking forward to after the baby arrives to eat raw sushi again. But I still enjoy everything else, especially edamame! yum!

Sunday we went to a afternoon movie to see 'A-Team' which was much better than both of us expected. We then had spaghetti dinner (was told to eat this, helps baby come faster!) and lots of Wii Bowling. Lots of spaghetti later... still no baby!

We think she will be here anyday now, there is no telling when she wants to come! Only 10% of women give birth on their due date, and in Panama, they say the women have their babies a bit early. We'll just continue enjoying our quiet time just me and scott (ok, Toby too!) and when she decides she wants to exit her cozy, warm environment and enter the world, we will be ready!

come baby come!

We are anxiously waiting and have been curiously wondering when the little princess will make her debut...
and in the mean time, have been drawing on the stretchy canvas!
(sorry mom, i showed some skin!)

A great joy is coming

Baby nursery is ready- just need the little princess to arrive!
This weekend we changed the room a bit, removed some closet doors to allow for a TV
(so Scott could watch sports- and teach her some moves!)
and allow easy access to clothes and necessities.

It is so exciting going through the adorable little baby clothes, thinking of her fitting into them soon, and how small she will be! Even the little newborn diapers are so small. It's incredible how fast babies do grow.

I am ready- and even though the doctor says I have two weeks left, I am constantly wondering how much longer I really have! If I make it to Thursday, I have another appointment to tell me any more information.

I think she is just packing on more weight and enjoying her little bit of space she has left in my belly. I can feel every movement she makes, and it still resembles rolling hills when she decides to reposition herself (or show off her dancing skills!)

They say that by this time, she is now the size of a watermelon, and the last bit of vernix caseosa (the white goo which keeps her skin moist and soft) and lanugo (downy hair) are slowly shedding into my amniotic fluid. Her head is bigger than her stomach, which is probably covered in a bunch of hair. What color is it? Blonde like mom or brown like dad?

"All this time we wonder, who is this person coming/growing/turning/floating/swimming deep, deep inside."

counting down!

Yesterday we had a doctor appointment and are really getting ready for baby to arrive!!
Everything checked out great with the doctor,
the little princess weighs just over 6 pounds (2.8kg)
and is very healthy... and still extremely active!

We will go to the doctor every week until I go into labor!
We pre-registered with the hospital, so when the time comes, we are ready!
We also toured the maternity and labor area again and the hospital rooms.
Bags are getting packed, cameras are ready, now we just wait!

The baby pool has begun... when will she make her debut?

we're so excited!

3 weeks and counting...

It's hard to believe I am 37 weeks pregnant!
Even harder to believe there are only 3 weeks left!
(more or less!)

I am curious as to exactly how much longer I have until that time comes.

'SCOTT, we have to go to the hospital, NOW!'

I am feeling good, besides the pinching sciatic nerve. But other than that, the pregnancy is going great. I have surprisingly gotten used to sleeping on my side, hourly trips to the bathroom, and having nothing that fits!

I am so excited to finally have the little princess, but as D-Day approaches, I am also getting a bit more nervous.

The pain.
The pain.
Oh the labor pain.
But what a sweet reward.

Keep your eye on the prize!

We have a doctor appointment on Thursday, and then one every week til I pop!
