Namaste!

I have been loving prenatal yoga. I go twice a week and have met other moms-to-be and really enjoyed the experience. The teacher gives the class in Spanish, which has helped me practice a bit more, and the yoga words are pretty easy to understand (inhale, exhale, left, right, etc.) The classes are not as strenuous as ashtanga yoga like I have done in the past, but very relaxing, and all geared towards mother and baby. It has taught me a lot of relaxation methods and will hopefully be great for breathing during labor. I am really enjoying it and look forward to my yoga classes!

The little princess is busy in my stomach, practicing her own yoga moves and moving around like a little bee.

Scott and I are still thinking of names, we have some that we like, but the list seems to change weekly (sometimes daily!)

Can't believe it's already 32 weeks- it really has flown by!

designing

It has been quite an interesting adventure getting the nursery together.
We have the furniture and the bedding.
Certain things are still waiting to be found in Panama.
But after the trip home for the baby shower,
I came back with so many wonderful goodies.
It was so amazing unpacking the suitcases and seeing all of the beautiful things for the baby.
More things are on their way.
Babies really do have a lot of things!

I am still in the process of finding a way that the furniture functions together and looks good.
In the meantime, if anyone knows of a good place to find a rug or a glider (in Panama),
it would be so greatly appreciated.

Truly Amazing

I am glad to say I successfully downed the glucose drink and completed the nasty tasting glucose test!

After the test, I got to get a 4D Ultrasound- and I was truly amazed at how incredible technology is and how advanced things have become. The doctor tested for so many things- from the movement in the brain, the arteries in the heart and the size and mass of the bones.
The little angel had her arms crossed most of the time covering her face, but we were able to get a couple of images- much different than a regular ultrasound- it created a real, life like image of what she looks like. Absolutely incredible! But where did she get that big nose!?! :-)

The doctor said that everything was perfectly normal and on task, she weighs 3 lbs. 3 oz. and the doctor said she has never seen a baby kick so much as our little one does. It was pretty normal to me, but the doctor said she was very active and that was a great sign for a healthy baby. To me it also means we are going to have a wild woman on our hands!

Today made it more oh-so real, brought on more anxious feelings and the desire to meet the little bundle (crazy bundle) of joy!

happy & healthy

small bladder- check!
acid reflux-check!
feeling tired-check!
prenatal yoga- check!
one beautiful, healthy baby girl- CHECK!

Yesterday we had a monthly checkup and everything is wonderful.
We got to see our baby on the ultrasound. Her head is down in the womb and her feet are busy moving around, kicking my ribs and showing off her dance moves!
She is so active and it was difficult for her to stay still. I feel her throughout the day, as her little nudges and boots are small reminders that she is so excited to arrive soon!

Tomorrow I am having some blood work and taking the ever so exciting and delicious glucose test. I found out that I am blood type O-Negative, so I will also have to have Rh-negative injections before the birth to prevent any complications down the road. fun stuff!
Then I am visiting another doctor for the 4D ultrasound-which not only gives a real lifelike image of the baby, but can also tell any abnormalities in bones, assess the fetal heart, provide a fetal biopsy and can tell any fetal genetic diseases.

31 weeks and counting... come one baby, we can't wait to meet you!

Every blade of grass has its angel that bends over and whispers 'grow, grow'

i'm gonna miss you dad

Friends Pete and Courtney have been visiting for the past 5 days, and headed back home to St.Pete this afternoon. We had a great time with them, fun dinners, and they did lots of fishing. Scott went with him, as he is on his way to Antigua for work.
I am going to miss my nightly tummy talks with the baby and having Scott around, but know that when he returns that it will be even closer towards my due date and I can't wait.

Since Scott will be out of town, I will have to find someone to take some updated belly pics, because this one is a self belly portrait.

Pura Vida, baby!

We are in Costa Rica, enjoying the great company with friends and relaxing.
However, I must say, it is one of the hottest places I have been in a long, long time.
We spent the afternoon at Jaco beach, along the Pacific Costa Rican coast and it was toasty.
We walked around the little shops and stopped for lunch, and in between, tried to stay cool.
With all of the hormones pumping through the blood, getting hot is a pretty common thing now. Combine that with a humid 88 scorching heat, and it makes one pretty uncomfortable mama.
Thank goodness for water. The baby said that she doesn't like boiling up so much, so we cooled down in the later afternoon with a dip in the pool. Thank goodness for swimming pools.

With only 10 weeks to go, we are still busy debating on names.
You would think we are studying for a bar exam, but, it's really just all over the little princess.
We want the name to be... perfect. and we know it will be.
She is almost 3 pounds and is surrounded by about a pint and a half of amniotic fluid. As the weeks continue, she'll get bigger and her play area will get smaller as she takes up more room in my uterus, meaning she will be practicing downward dog against my ribs. ouch!

We are oh so happy to be parents.
Only a couple more items for the nursery... would love to find a comfortable glider and a snuggly rug. Then just the bundle of joy to come home. ooh what a wonderful feeling of anticipation!

stretchy pants!

In the beginning of my pregnancy, I thought that I would be able to wear my regular clothes throughout the entire 9 months. Guess I was wrong!
I am growing in my belly and can't even zip up pants anymore, so god bless maternity wear and sweat pants. I got a couple pairs of maternity waisted pants in Florida- and they are so comfortable. I can still wear my usual clothes, just with the help of a BellaBand to hold 'em up!
But they are definitely not as comfortable as some stretchy sweatpants and a tank top.

We are in Costa Rica for a couple of days, spending time with friends, and my last leave from Panama for awhile.

And what I thought was kicks from the little miss, turns out to be hiccups. They come often throughout the day, and it is the funniest, cutest little feeling in the world. Just another reminder that she's always with me!

leaving... on a jet plane...

I'm getting ready to leave Florida (sniff, sniff) and it's my last trip back before I have the baby.
Sad.. and happy at the same time.
I have missed the handsome husband and adorable puppy so much, and that will make my heart smile when I get back to Panama.
What a fabulous trip I had though- family, friends, baby showers... everything was so wonderful. Thank you to everyone for their love and support! I got to spend quality time with mom & dad and will miss EVERYONE until we come back next time. I'm already thinking of how different travel is going to be from now on...

Baby has been kicking like crazy today, lots of movement... I think she is sad to leave, too... but anxious to get home and hear dad :-)

Oh so sweet!

Baby Bump and Mom to be have had one of the most exciting weekends ever!
Friday night we had a fabulous baby shower hosted by Maggie at Becky's house. It was wonderful, great seeing family and friends and playing silly shower games. It was so much fun chatting with everyone and other moms about what a wonderful time this is.

Saturday morning my mom and her friend Diane hosted a brunch baby shower for me at Diane's house and it was lovely, with more friends and family and people I have not seen in awhile. It was great catching up, and getting wonderful gifts for the future little LeRoy.

I received so many useful baby items that I get to take back to Panama for the baby. I am almost in the 29th week of pregnancy and couldn't feel better or be happier!
Will post more shower pics, but have a couple for now.

Spent the Easter day with family. It was so great to have my mom, dad and brother all together. We went to the beach and had a great time. Also got to go by Katy Davis' house and see all the kids, the Booths, Balls, LeRoys and the entire gang.
